How do I optimize my video conferencing apps for the SmartDesk Connect?
Zoom Cloud Meetings
-
Open 'Zoom Cloud Meetings', then navigate to 'Settings.'
-
Under the 'Video' tab, select the 'Advanced' option.
-
Once selected, you'll see 'Use hardware acceleration for' with several checkboxes underneath.
-
Enable each checkbox.
ZOOM is not optimized to work with dedicated GPUs, resulting in a sub-standard user experience. We recommend using one of the alternates listed below, such as Google Meet.
Google Meet
-
Open 'Google Chrome', then navigate to 'Settings.'
-
Under the 'Advanced' tab, select 'System.'
-
Enable the toggle for 'Use hardware acceleration when available.'
Microsoft Teams
-
Open 'Microsoft Teams,' then navigate to 'Settings.'
-
Under the 'General' tab, disable the checkbox for 'Disable GPU hardware acceleration.'
Webex by Cisco
Webex does not support hardware acceleration at this time. We’ll update these instructions once Nvidia and AMD GPUs are made compatible.
